Application / Properties:
Electrode for welding of
dissimilar steels and for
surfacing purposes. The weld
metal consists of austenitic
Cr-Ni-steel with possible
small amounts of
delta-ferrite; it is
non-scaling up to 850C. It
features high resistance to
cracking and is therefore
indicated for
difficult-to-weld steels and
depositing stress-relaxing
buffer layers on crack
sensitive base metal or
beneath hardfacing deposits.
Highest temperature of
dissimilar steel joints is
+300C, at higher
temperatures 1604G electrode
shall be used. Weld metal
will work harden.

steels), difficult to
weld steels (e.g. heat
treatable and tool
steels),
high manganese steels.

Redrying : required
at 300°C for 2hrs.
